New Suitability Rule

FINRA Rule 2310 (in concert with FINRA Rule 2090, “Know Your Customer”) is relatively clear as to what is required. It is less than clear, however, as to how to accomplish the requirements and how to document the accomplishment.
This workshop will focus less on the language of the Rule and more on the “how to” comply aspects. Attendees will receive specific hypothetical scenarios from which to arrive at a suitability determination for a specifically designated investment. Individual group determinations will be discussed by the whole group to see if any information has been overlooked or incorrectly assessed. Discussions will also be held as to the documentation required for each recommended transaction, as well as the important determination as to whether or not a particular transaction is, in fact, a recommendation.
