LAKEVILLE, CT – February 15, 2011: NRS, the nation’s leader in investment adviser and broker-dealer compliance and registration solutions including comprehensive education, best-in-class technology and expert consulting services, is pleased to announce the availability of new specialist training programs. These courses, which focus on the specific challenges that exist in the areas of risk management and hedge fund compliance and operations, were developed to address the growing need and heightened demand for niche compliance education and training.
Compliance professionals are seeking education and guidance as they face new and tougher challenges, including a competitive need to extract greater value from compliance resources amid a host of new regulations and directives. Nowhere is this more critical than for hedge fund compliance professionals, who have seen their industry face an entirely new compliance landscape in recent months and thus need accurate, up-to-the-minute compliance information and guidance. As well, financial services firms of all stripes are focusing on incorporating compliance functions as part of an overall risk management strategy. To address these themes, NRS has introduced training for two emerging areas of compliance focus: Risk Management and Hedge Fund Compliance and Operations.
Each area of concentration consists of three, two-hour online courses that can be taken individually or as part of the Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional (IACCPSM) program, which NRS co-sponsors with the Investment Adviser Association (IAA). Program enrollees can opt into these elective courses and earn a Hedge Fund Specialist Certificate and/or Risk Management Specialist Certificate in addition to the IACCP designation. Existing IACCP designees can add the specialist concentration to their credentials by fulfilling the Specialist Certificate requirements. All six courses also meet the continuing education requirements necessary to maintain IACCP designation.
“Our customers rely on NRS, as the premier provider of compliance education, to address the growing needs of compliance professionals to help them stay abreast of a changing industry and regulatory landscape,” said John Gebauer, Managing Director of NRS. “Our new specialist courses are an example of how NRS is committed to providing the right educational opportunities to help compliance professionals face their toughest challenges.”
